Android Developer – Connected Fitness Devices & Apps (m/f/d)

Build Android software that gets people moving Want to develop Android apps and see your code become part of a real product? At AUGLETICS, you will work on software for our connected rowing machines and our app. You can try out new features on the equipment and improve them with the team, from an early prototype to a reliable experience for our customers. We develop and manufacture in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin. Our company has around 25 people. You will join a software team of four to five and work directly with our CTO, Christopher Klabunde. We have plenty of ideas and are looking for someone who enjoys building things, thinks for themselves and cares about quality. What you will work on • Android development: Build new features for our device software and app, improve existing workflows and create an intuitive, reliable user experience. • Connected systems: Work on interfaces between the app, device software and backend, helping make data flows and error handling reliable. • Hands-on prototyping: Turn ideas into working prototypes, try them on our rowing machines and develop promising approaches with the team. • Quality from the start: Write understandable, maintainable code, take part in reviews and tests, and fix problems thoroughly. • AI-assisted development: Use AI tools for ideas, coding, testing and debugging. Understand and verify their output before it becomes part of the product. What you bring • Programming fundamentals and an interest in native Android development with Kotlin or Java. Android experience is welcome; if you are new to it, tell us how you learn and why it interests you. • The ability to explain how you approach a technical problem. Personal apps, learning projects, university work, internships and student jobs all count alongside professional experience. • An interest in writing reliable, maintainable software and learning how to test it well. • Openness to AI-assisted app development and a willingness to question and check the results. • Initiative, a collaborative approach and the desire to learn an existing product and gradually take ownership. • Good spoken and written English is required. You need to discuss technical topics confidently with the team. German is not required, but it is a strong advantage. • The ability to work regularly on site in Königs Wusterhausen, where we develop and test directly on the devices. A degree in computer science or a related subject, relevant vocational training, or equivalent knowledge provides a good foundation. Experienced or just starting out? We would like to meet you Already have several years of experience? Great – bring your ideas and a fresh perspective. New to this field or looking for your first professional role? That is welcome too. If you are excited about our product, have a technical foundation and learn quickly, we would like to hear from you. Whichever stage you are at, it is our job to help you settle into the team and provide the knowledge, tools and support you need to succeed. You will get to know our product and ways of working alongside Chris and the team. We will match your initial tasks and responsibilities to your experience and help you grow from there. Nice to have • Experience with Firebase as an app backend, for example user authentication, data storage or server-side logic. • Experience in iOS development, ideally with Swift or SwiftUI. • Knowledge of Git, automated testing, CI/CD, API integration or connecting software to devices. What we offer • A real product you can try out yourself, with a direct impact on how our customers train. • A company of around 25 people, a small software team and close collaboration with CTO Christopher Klabunde. • Room for your ideas and professional growth, with responsibilities that develop with your skills. • A permanent, full-time position: 40 hours per week and 28 days of annual leave. • €50,000–€65,000 gross per year, depending on your relevant skills and experience. • A workplace in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin, with one or two days of working from home per week by agreement. Working near Berlin Our office is at Zur Heide 10, Königs Wusterhausen. The town has direct S46 S-Bahn and regional train connections to Berlin; you can cycle from the station to our office. Regular on-site work matters because development, testing and teamwork happen around the actual rowing machines. This is a hybrid role based in Germany. How to apply Send us your CV in English or German. No formal cover letter is needed. A GitHub link or an app you have worked on is welcome, but optional. Four optional questions Answer any of these if you would like to. A few bullet points in English or German are enough. No extra document or application assignment is required. • What interests you about developing software for a connected fitness product? What would you like to learn or help us improve? • What have you programmed or taught yourself so far? If you have worked with Android, Firebase or iOS, what was your own contribution? Feel free to share a link. • Which AI tools have you tried for development or learning, and how do you check their output?
