ZEAL Network SE is a dynamic, international group of companies that has been creating exciting and innovative lottery experiences for over 20 years. As Germany’s largest provider of online lotteries through our brands LOTTO24 and Tipp24, and a trusted partner of Spain’s ONCE, the second-largest national lottery, we’re shaping the future of the lottery industry. We are passionate about driving innovation, as demonstrated by our newest brands, Freiheit+ and Traumhausverlosung, which bring fresh and exciting dreams to life. Additionally, through ZEAL Ventures, we invest in inspiring e-commerce start-ups like Omaze and DAYMADE, fueling fresh ideas and opportunities. Our team of 350+ professionals from diverse backgrounds is united by a visionary mindset, a passion for collaboration, and a commitment to inspire dreams. At ZEAL, we empower our people to think ambitiously and work together toward a shared purpose: helping people imagine and achieve their aspirations. The Role As our Android Developer, you will join one of our cross-functional domain teams and help shape the future of our digital lottery experiences across platforms. You will play a key role in evolving our Android app, by implementing cutting-edge features with Jetpack Compose, and creating accessible experience that millions of customers trust. At the same time, our domain teams take end-to-end ownership of the customer experience across Android, iOS, and web. We believe great developers are curious beyond the boundaries of a single platform. You’ll therefore have the opportunity and willingness to contribute to our Angular/TypeScript based webshop and Swift based iOS app, collaborating closely with engineers across technologies to deliver the best solution for our customers. Your Tasks • Develop and maintain 5-star Android applications that are high-quality, efficient, scalable, and accessible. • Take ownership of the Android development lifecycle, including planning, implementation, testing, release, and monitoring. • Work as part of a holistic domain team that owns customer experiences across web, Android, and iOS, collaborating closely with engineers across all three platforms as well as backend developers. • Contribute beyond Android when needed, particularly to our Angular/TypeScript-based webshop, and be open to learning and working across our frontend technology stack. • Collaborate on technical solutions at a domain level rather than optimizing for a single platform, helping create consistent and seamless customer experiences. • Manage Android app releases and monitor performance through Firebase, ensuring excellent quality, responsiveness, and reliability. • Stay ahead of developments in the Android ecosystem and bring relevant technologies, patterns, and ideas into the team. • Share your Android expertise with the wider team through code reviews, technical guidance, pair programming, and strong engineering practices. • Learn from colleagues with expertise in web, iOS, and backend development and actively contribute to a culture of shared ownership and knowledge exchange. What you offer us: • You are an experienced Android Developer who enjoys working in a cross-functional environment and wants to take ownership of products beyond the boundaries of a single platform. • You bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Kotlin, the Android SDK, and widely used Jetpack libraries. • You have experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android development practices. • You demonstrate expertise in structuring code using established design patterns and architectural approaches such as Clean Architecture and MVVM. • You are proficient in writing testable code as well as Unit, Integration, and UI tests. • You are skilled in working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and web service integrations. • You are familiar with modern development and CI/CD pipelines and tools, including GitHub Actions. • You bring a strong analytical mindset with advanced debugging and problem-solving abilities. • You have a solid understanding of best-practice UX principles and a keen eye for design details, including UI placement, layouts, and interaction patterns. • You are curious about technologies outside the Android ecosystem and are comfortable contributing to web development with TypeScript and Angular. Previous professional experience with these technologies is a plus, but a willingness to learn and contribute is essential. • You enjoy sharing your expertise while also learning from engineers specializing in other platforms and technologies. • You have good verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in German or a willingness to learn the language is a plus. What we offer: • State-of-the-art technologies and an agile environment (Check our Tech Radar: https://lotto24.github.io/tech-radar/) • A modern, dynamic culture grounded in the success of a leading-edge e-commerce company. • A talented team of ambitious, like-minded colleagues where your knowledge and ideas truly make an impact. • Ongoing personal growth, supported by an annual development budget of €1,500 to invest in your professional development. • Trust and autonomy, no micromanagement, just confidence in your ability to deliver and excel. • Flexible work options with a hybrid setup focused on results. • Unlimited vacation days in addition to your yearly 30-day vacation allowance. • Opportunity for workations abroad using our WorkFlex tool. • Monthly mobility allowance of €30 to use on the mobility option of your choice (e.g., the Deutschlandticket), plus access to a company bike leasing program. • Company pension scheme, provided in partnership with Degura, to support your future financial security. • Subsidized EGYM WELLPASS membership, with a contribution of only €25 per month, giving you access to a wide range of gyms and sports options across Germany. • Monthly company events, team activities, and informal gatherings, including our popular company-wide lunches provided four days a week.
