Brand & Content Lead

In Short: We are looking for someone that loves content and eCommerce to own our entire brand surface — content, community, product marketing, and website — and turn Klar into the go-to resource for actionable eCom knowledge in Europe. About Klar 🚀 The Mission Klar is the Data Operating System for growing eCommerce companies, meaning no more spreadsheets. We integrate with all of a brand's data sources to provide a holistic understanding of their business, offering detailed insights on how to accelerate growth and increase profitability. 🛍️ The Reach We are already the "single source of truth" for over 1,000 leading eCom brands. Market leaders like Sunday Natural, Loop Earplugs, Holy, Maniko, and Armed Angels use Klar to make better decisions every single day. 🤝 The Backstory We deeply empathize with our customers because we were our customers. The founders (who met in South Africa working for Zando) spent the last 10 years in e-commerce. We know the pain of running these businesses, and we built Klar specifically to solve it. ✨ The Principle Our guiding principle is Do Work You Are Proud Of. We emphasize long-term quality over short-term results. We evaluate our tools and decisions wisely because we want to be proud of what we build together. Tasks About The Position Klar has two big assets outside of our software: the content we produce and the eCom Unity, Germany's largest eCommerce community with 2,500+ active operators. Both are running today — but honestly, neither is running at the level it could. That's where you come in. You will own our brand end-to-end and build it into a well-oiled machine. Concretely, that means four areas: 1. The Content Engine We are in the early stages of building a scalable, consistent content operation, and you will play a major role in deciding what it becomes. You will own the overall direction, identify which formats and channels we should double down on, and turn them into a content engine that ships reliably and at a high bar. Here is what we are currently thinking: • A weekly newsletter that shares the biggest knowledge bombs from our community, workshops, and own research — no fluff, operational insights only. • A podcast and/or YouTube channel where we go deep with the best operators in eCom on how they actually grow their businesses. Not “here is our founding story” — straight to the operational meat. • Personal branding on LinkedIn for our founders and team members. You will build the system, develop the angles, and yes — write in other people’s voices. If ghostwriting feels beneath you, this is not your role. You will already have a Content & Video Producer on your team, who is also happy to jump in front of the camera and take ownership beyond production. Together, you will orchestrate the content process from idea to distribution. We work AI-first - a well-set-up Claude gets you 90% of a draft; your judgment, taste, and editing get it to 100%. 2. Community & Events The eCom Unity runs 20+ IRL events per year like our pre-OMR meetup with 150 operators and a bunch of online workshops. Two people on the team run this today, and it's largely on autopilot — your job is to guide them, connect the community to the content engine (every event is content, every discussion is a newsletter), and push the eCom Unity into its next phase as a genuine media asset. 3. Product Marketing How we talk about Klar — our positioning, our messaging, and our anti-hype stance in a market full of hype — is something you will own and shape. You will be the strategic counterpart to Max, our founder, who is deeply opinionated on this. Your role is to challenge his perspective, sharpen our thinking, and translate a complex product into clear, compelling messaging that makes its value immediately obvious. 4. Website & Sales Collateral You own our website (Webflow) and the collateral our sales team needs. You should be able to execute most of this yourself — with Figma, Webflow, and AI tools like Claude Code — and pull in engineering or freelancers when needed. What success looks like after 12 months: a content machine that ships consistently and at high quality, a growing audience (newsletter, community, social) that considers Klar one of the go-to resources for eCom knowledge in Europe — and a measurable content contribution to our pipeline. Requirements About You • You are among the best at what you do - we are looking for extraordinarily talented people who are looking to take their career and knowledge to the next level. You likely have 5–10 years of experience across content, brand, or product marketing. • You are smart & naturally curious - existing in-depth knowledge of eCommerce would be ideal, of course, but we understand that this might be a stretch. Thus, you need to be excited to dig into new industries and gain knowledge of the brands, people and operations in it. • You are a great writer and editor - most content starts as words. You write excellent copy in English (German is a plus), and you have the taste to take an AI-generated draft from good to great. You know the difference. • You are a builder, not just a strategist - you don't need a team of ten to ship. You're comfortable in Webflow, Figma, and AI tools, and you'd rather publish this week than perfect a strategy deck. • You lead through others - you'll guide our community team and work with our video editor. You don't need formal authority to get people moving. • You optimize for learning - your main motivation at this point of your career is to learn as much as possible and broaden your tool set. You want to work with people of the same mindset and learn from each other. Location: Munich preferred, remote possible. Benefits Our Offer 💰 Top-of-Market Compensation We want to hire the best people out there to help make Klar successful, and we ensure you are compensated accordingly. 🕊️ Freedom & Impact You will work with founders who truly "get" eCom and are super interested in your ideas. We give you the freedom you need to be successful and the space to take ownership from day one. 🎢 The Full Experience We offer all the fun, struggle, challenge, and ultimately the elation and satisfaction that comes from building a kick-ass system. We will push you out of your comfort zone and challenge you, guaranteeing a steep personal and professional learning curve. 🔮 Massive Exposure You get a look "behind the curtain" of how the best eCom brands operate. You will gain detailed insights into the strategies that work, backed by data from hundreds of brands. 🌍 Work From Anywhere We are building a remote-first company. While we have a base in Munich, you have the flexibility to work from anywhere (ideally within GMT+0 to GMT+4 to keep our collaboration smooth). 🏃 Hiring Process We are growing like crazy, so we aim to move fast - but we never compromise on quality. A normal process looks like this, but we’re happy to adapt it to your needs and ours: 📑 Application Review -> 👋🏼 First Interview -> 🧩 The Challenge -> 🧠 Deep Dive -> 🤝 Meet the Co-Founders -> 🎉 The Offer. 👋 How To Apply Simply send your CV here or send Max a message on LinkedIn. Please include a few words (or a video) on why you think you are a great fit — and even better, one piece of content you'd make for Klar in your first month.
