Lead/ Head of Sales Europe (f/m/d)

At Upvest, we are on a mission to make investing as easy as spending money. Upvest empowers businesses to offer a wide range of investment products and the best experience in the field of capital market investment and retirement planning. Upvest’s Investment API is easy to integrate so that fintechs and financial institutions can save resources and fully focus on their core business. We are proud to partner with Europe's leading Fintechs and Financial Institutions such as DKB, Revolut, N26, and Raisin. Founded in 2017 by Martin Kassing, Upvest now brings together over 330 talented professionals from more than 70 nationalities. Upvest is backed by €280M in total funding from world-class investors, including Tencent, Sapphire Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, BlackRock, Earlybird, Notion Capital, and Motive. Our latest €105M funding round in March 2026 - led by Sapphire and Tencent - serves as a massive catalyst for our growth, allowing us to offer premier investment experiences. As Upvest enters the next stage of growth, we are looking for an exceptional sales leader for continental Europe. You will work directly with our Director of Growth Alexander Reichhardt owning the topics most critical to Upvest's expansion beyond its current home markets: About the role: Own the go-to-market for Europe's next investment markets We aim high at Upvest. Over the last years we have built one of Europe's most relevant B2B fintechs: an Investment API on top of a self-developed core banking engine, with full regulatory licences and investment operations included. Germany and the UK are proven, with more than 20 clients live and over 110 million trades processed in 2025. Our licences are passported across 20+ EEA countries, which means the infrastructure for the rest of Europe is already in place. From here we’re on a journey to enter market by market in Europe, starting with France, Spain, and Italy. This is your opportunity to turn our foundation into a flywheel for new markets. You will own the go-to-market for continental Europe end-to-end: defining which client segments we go after first, from fast-growing fintechs to established banks, building the target list and the pipeline behind it, and shaping the commercial case that wins against local incumbents and against the instinct of large banks to build it all themselves. Lead high-stakes sales and win complex deals with financial institutions Our clients include the most ambitious fintechs and the most demanding financial institutions in Europe. Winning their business requires enterprise commercial rigour, deep domain knowledge, and genuine client partnership. Deals run over many months, involve procurement, risk, compliance and IT, and are won on substance rather than volume. Since inception we have been delivering on such high touch deals with clearly defined sales journeys, strong materials, and a unique approach now amplified by AI. You will lead those deals personally before you lead them through others. That means owning the largest opportunities in your region yourself, from first conversation to signature, while bringing the discipline that makes the motion repeatable: rigorous qualification, value-based and consultative selling, predictable forecasting, and a clear view on where not to spend time. You use AI actively to increase your own coverage and later that of your team, and you feed what you learn from clients back into product, solutions, and marketing. Attract, develop and lead a best-in-class sales team in European fintech Building world-class financial infrastructure requires world-class people. At Upvest we put hiring excellence and people development front and centre. The Growth team today features talented, driven people coming from Europe's leading fintechs, financial institutions, and technology companies, with Sales working side by side with revenue ops, marketing, partnerships, and solutions engineering on shared targets. With inspiring yet pragmatic and hands-on leadership you will build the European sales team around you. You will set the bar for the talent you hire, ramp new Account Executives fast, set and steer their targets, and coach them through cycles that few people have run before. You will be measured on what your team closes as much as on what you close yourself, and you will keep carrying a quota personally for as long as this stage of the business asks for it. What you’ll do: • Real ownership of a region: This is a defining hire for our European expansion. You own commercial success for your markets, with Alexander, our Co-Founder Til Rochow, and the rest of senior leadership as your close sparring partners and supporters. • A product that gives you an unfair advantage: Our Investment API is genuinely differentiated, a full-stack B2B investment infrastructure crafted with the best product principles and most modern tech stack in the industry. It is live, regulated by BaFin and the FCA, and proven at scale with clients such as DKB, Revolut, N26, and Raisin. • A team that takes the work seriously: Upvest's Growth team, and the company around it, is one of a kind when it comes to combining impactful work with a collaborative and fun culture. You will have dedicated revenue ops, solutions engineering, marketing, and partnerships colleagues working with you on your deals, and strong practices around feedback, psychological safety, and team health. • The complexity and richness of financial infrastructure: Working at the intersection of API-first SaaS and regulated financial services, with clients ranging from hypergrowth fintechs to global banks, is one of the most strategic and commercially interesting places to be. Every client relationship and every deal teaches you something new. If you are intellectually curious about how financial markets and products are being rebuilt from the ground up, this is the role for you. • Flexibility with a European footprint: We are a Berlin- and London-headquartered company with a growing presence across Europe. We are equally open to candidates based in one of Europe's financial hubs, in particular Paris, Madrid, and Milan, who are willing to spend meaningful time in Berlin. What matters most is the quality of your leadership and the results you deliver. What you bring: • 5+ years in senior sales roles, including at least two years leading a team, within high-growth B2B technology and financial services. You have sold API-based enterprise SaaS into fintechs, banks, brokers or wealth managers, and you know financial infrastructure such as core-banking or securities processing. • A proven track record of closing complex, high-value deals with financial institutions, and of building the foundations that make doing so repeatable. You have taken a sales team from first foundations to early scale, with a proven track-record of exceeding ambitious revenue targets • Genuine European reach: You have sold across several European countries, with direct experience in at least one of France, Spain or Italy, a strong network in the world of banking and finance • A modern approach to sales: customer-centric, value-based, data-driven, and AI-enabled. You have strong views on what great looks like, from qualification frameworks to CRM hygiene to how account plans and collaboration roadmaps have the highest impact and are enabled by and enhanced with AI, and you turn those views into standards the team works to. • Hands-on ownership with strategic foresight: You operate practically, think in second-order effects to get complex deals across the line, and you are genuinely comfortable carrying quota yourself at this stage rather than only managing others who do. • Outstanding people leadership: You hire exceptional people, develop them continuously, and create a non-hierarchical, inclusive and respectful environment where the best talent chooses to stay and grow. You lead with clarity, empathy, and high standards. • Fluent English plus native-level in either French, Spanish, or Italian. Investment domain knowledge, experience selling regulated products, and time at a tier-1 growth company are a strong plus. How we Upvest in you: • Best-in-class AI tools: Every Upvenger has €20,000 per year to spend on the best AI tools available — so you're always working with the most powerful models and tooling on the market. • Impact-driven work: We’re building the infrastructure that will power the future of investing in Europe. It’s complex, ambitious, and meaningful. You’ll work with modern technologies and create something entirely new. No legacy systems, no limits. • Wellbeing: Recharge with 30 days of annual leave and maintain a healthy lifestyle with sports benefits. Access confidential professional coaching and enjoy the flexibility to work remotely abroad for up to 183 days a year. Recharge with UpRest, a one-month fully paid sabbatical after every 4 years of working at Upvest. • Development: Growth is in our DNA. Each Upvenger has access to a personal development budget and the freedom to decide how to use it. • Flexible work environment: Work from any of our hubs in Berlin, London or Tallinn hybrid or remotely across Europe, depending on the role. We give you the choice and budget to work where you’re most comfortable and productive, either at home or in the office. You choose. • Compensation and equity: We believe that all Upvengers contribute to our success and deserve a competitive, above-market salary and a participation in our employee equity program. • Team celebrations: Participate in company-wide events, such as UpFest, dinners, offsites and our Holiday party, to connect with colleagues and celebrate our achievements. • Inclusion: We’re committed to a culture where everyone belongs and thrives. Our Employee Resources Groups foster inclusion and connection, like Upfem for our female Upvengers, or UpVergent supporting neurodivergent Upvengers and allies. Our Values: • Make it easy for others. We simplify the complex and act with the best intentions. • Own the outcome. We are proactive, fast and confident to get the job done, valuing progress over perfection. • Rise to the challenge. We aim high and push the boundaries. We stay curious, learn and celebrate our wins together. • Tell the story. We start with the Why to align on purpose. We are transparent and share knowledge to empower and inspire others. Upvest is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
