Marketing Manager (m/f/d)

MAOMAO is a fast-growing online supermarket for Asian food, combining e-commerce with content, community and social commerce. We don't just sell products. We introduce people to new foods, brands, trends and cultures through TikTok, Instagram, livestreams, TikTok Shop, our online shop and our own products. As MAOMAO continues to grow, we're looking for a Marketing Manager (m/f/d) who wants to take real ownership and help shape the next stage of our marketing. Aufgaben What You'll Do Campaigns & Product Launches You will plan and coordinate marketing campaigns, promotions, product launches and livestreams from idea to execution. This includes: • developing campaign and launch plans • creating timelines, responsibilities and deadlines • coordinating content and communication across our channels • making sure everyone involved knows what needs to happen and when • keeping projects moving and following up on deliverables • identifying problems and dependencies early • reviewing results and turning learnings into better future campaigns We are looking for someone who thinks beyond individual tasks and takes responsibility for making the overall project work. TikTok Shop & Social Commerce Social commerce is an important part of MAOMAO and an area we want to continue developing. You will work on: • TikTok Shop campaigns and promotions • Seller Center and campaign management • livestream campaigns and activations • product and promotional planning • coordination with TikTok and external partners • identifying and testing new opportunities in social commerce Experience with TikTok Shop is a plus, but not a requirement. Curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter just as much. Marketing & Content You will work with our team to develop campaigns and content around Asian food, products, trends and culture. You will help decide: • which products and topics we should focus on • how we communicate them to our audience • which content formats and channels make sense • how campaigns connect across TikTok, Instagram, our online shop, email and other channels We want someone who doesn't just create marketing, but increasingly understands why something works and how we can make it better. Team & Project Coordination Good ideas only matter if they get executed. You will help coordinate marketing projects across the team, keep track of priorities and deadlines and make sure projects move forward. Depending on your experience, you may also: • coordinate responsibilities within the marketing team • improve workflows and processes • support and guide other team members • take responsibility for larger marketing initiatives • help shape marketing priorities together with the founders There is room to take on more leadership responsibility as both you and MAOMAO grow. Your Role Can Grow With You We don't expect one person to be an expert in every area of marketing. Depending on your experience, strengths and interests, you can gradually take on additional responsibility in areas such as: Performance & KPIs Analyzing campaign performance, defining measurable goals and using data to improve marketing decisions. Marketing Budgets Managing defined budgets and deciding how resources should be allocated across campaigns and channels. CRM & Email Marketing Developing how we communicate with existing customers and improve retention. What Ownership Means at MAOMAO Ownership is one of the most important parts of how we work. It doesn't mean working endless hours or having all the answers. It means thinking beyond the individual task. If we are launching a new product in four weeks, we don't want someone who simply waits for a list of things to do. We want someone who thinks: What are we trying to achieve? What needs to happen? Which channels should we use? What content do we need? Who owns what? What are the deadlines? What are we missing? What could go wrong? And how will we know whether it worked? Just as importantly, we value people who think in solutions, not only in problems. Pointing out that something is not working is useful. But we expect you to go one step further: What can we do about it? What are the options? What can we test now? What is the fastest reasonable next step? You should be willing to make informed decisions, experiment, learn from results and iterate quickly rather than waiting for a perfect answer. Not every idea will work. That is okay. What matters is that we learn fast, adjust fast and keep moving. The mindset we're looking for is: “Here is the problem. Here are the options. Here is what I recommend we try next.” Qualifikation Who We're Looking For We're open to candidates with different backgrounds and levels of experience, but we're looking for someone who has already gained meaningful hands-on marketing experience and is ready to take ownership. You should: • have at least 2 years of relevant experience in marketing, e-commerce, social media, content, campaign management or a related field • have fluent German skills (C1 or native-level), as you will be developing marketing for a predominantly German-speaking audience • have strong working proficiency in English • be highly organized, reliable and proactive • take initiative and think ahead • be able to turn ideas into structured plans and execution • communicate clearly and follow through • feel comfortable taking responsibility for outcomes • think in solutions rather than simply escalating problems • be willing to experiment, test and iterate quickly • be comfortable making decisions even when not every answer is obvious • have a strong interest in e-commerce, social media and social commerce • be comfortable working with data, KPIs and budgets • enjoy working in a fast-moving environment • be hands-on when needed • learn quickly and actively look for ways to improve Experience in e-commerce, TikTok, TikTok Shop, social media, CRM, performance marketing or campaign management is a plus. Chinese language skills are a plus but they are NOT a requirement. Benefits Benefits What we offer • A central marketing role with a high level of ownership and room to shape how we work • Direct collaboration with the founders • Founders with backgrounds in venture capital and e-commerce • An existing marketing and content team to work with • Our own office, warehouse and content setup in Berlin • Short decision-making paths and the freedom to actually implement ideas • Plenty of room to experiment, test new formats and iterate quickly • The opportunity to work at the intersection of e-commerce, social media, TikTok Shop, livestreaming and brand building • The opportunity to shape campaigns and launches from idea to execution instead of owning only one small part of the process • Clear professional and personal development opportunities, including the potential to take on more leadership responsibility • A young, international team with a lot of passion and team spirit • Employee discount across our assortment Interested? Send us your CV and a short introduction telling us why you want to join MAOMAO and what excites you about this role. We'd also like you to answer one question: Tell us about a marketing campaign, project or experiment you took ownership of. What was your goal, what did you do, and what was the result? It doesn't have to be a huge campaign or a perfect success. We're interested in how you think, how you approach problems and what you learn from the things you try. One last thing: We don't mind if you use AI to help with your application – we use AI too. But if your application could be sent to 50 other companies by simply replacing the company name, it's probably not for us. Show us why MAOMAO, and show us how you think. If you want to take ownership, move fast and help us grow a category that has been treated as a niche for far too long, we'd love to hear from you. Maybe you're the Sriracha to our noodle soup. 🌶️🍜 Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
