Principal Product Manager Strategic Initiatives

OUR MISSION We exist to create a more connected, compassionate, and confident experience for people with cancer and those who care for them. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond. Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person's cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers. As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help our care team focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer. Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you're inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what's possible, we'd love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters. WHAT YOU'LL DO We're hiring a Principal Product Manager to set the product direction for new, zero-to-one initiatives focused on applying AI to make better care decisions in oncology — helping people receive the right, evidence-based treatment at the moment it matters. Working closely with senior clinical, operations, engineering, and business leaders, you will shape the strategy, identify the highest-value opportunities, and lead the most complex and consequential product work needed to build a solution with the potential to become a category-defining platform. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one role for a product leader who can operate at both the strategic and implementation levels — moving fluidly between learning from users, defining product direction, partnering with engineering and other stakeholders to shape solutions , and driving execution to launch. You will establish the product foundation across workflow tooling, data integrations, and AI systems, while creating patterns that can scale across future products and initiatives. Much of this work sits at the intersection of applied AI, clinical guidelines, and operational workflows in a regulated setting where fidelity, auditability, and trust are non-negotiable. This is an individual contributor role today, with the opportunity to build and lead a product team over time as this business line grows. Additionally, you will: • Drive the roadmap for a zero-to-one AI initiative to improve care decisions in oncology • Prototype, test, and ship AI powered products with engineering and other teams cross functionally • Build the workflow tooling and decision support surfaces clinicians and care teams need to act on AI recommendations • Own the evaluations, guardrails, and observability standards to ensure recommendations are accurate, safe, and trusted across, auditable, and defensible to clinical, provider, and health-plan stakeholders • Partner with engineering to shape the technical architecture around AI systems, data models, and integrations • Communicate tradeoffs and profess clearly to senior clinical, engineering, and business stakeholders • Leverage AI to accelerate your own work and help decide how the team uses AI tooling to move faster and prototype more efficiently WHAT YOU'VE DONE • 6+ years of product management experience, including leading zero-to-one or early-stage initiatives when the problem, requirements, and path forward were not fully defined • You have healthcare experience, ideally building workflow, data, or integration products for enterprise contexts • You’re comfortable with ambiguity and defining a path forward for yourself and others • You have hands-on experience building or shipping AI/LLM-powered products • You communicate clearly and build alignment across engineering, clinical, and business stakeholders • You like to operate close to the technical details, such as data models, edge cases, evaluations, and impacts of implementation Nice to haves: • Experience in oncology, serious illness / palliative care, or chronic condition management • Hands-on experience shipping AI/LLM-powered product features, including safety guardrails, evaluation, and quality measurement OUR VALUES At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don’t choose. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $195,500-$230,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level. This position is also bonus-eligible. We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We’re here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal-opportunity employer. Be cautious of recruitment fraud, and always confirm that communications are coming from an official Thyme Care email.
