Senior Product Owner - Internal Operating System & AI (f/m/d)

Tangany, based in Munich, is a highly innovative technology company with a market-leading B2B solution for the custody of digital assets on the blockchain (e.g. cryptocurrencies & tokenized assets). Our solution is already used by more than 40 institutional customers. Tangany is regulated by the German federal financial supervisory authority, BaFin. Using our modern API, we enable our customers to easily and securely integrate blockchain functionalities into their systems. This white-label solution reduces development costs and time, enabling fast market access and ease of use for end users. Regulatory requirements can be covered for appropriate assets via Tangany's crypto custody license if required. For our continued growth, we are looking for a Senior Product Owner - Internal Operating System & AI (f/m/d) to join our team. Your role Our engineering works in three product teams. Two of them build for our partners: one the portals, the other the API and our custody core. The third works inward, and you will own its product. Its mandate is to run Tangany's operations as efficiently as possible. Business and product operations processes such as transaction operations, billing, forecasting and KPI reporting get digitised, automated, or handed to AI agents where that is the better solution. Much of this runs today on a self-hosted Retool platform. Whether we keep extending it or replace it with an AI-native solution on top of the APIs our other teams provide is one of the first calls you will shape. The team works process-first. You map each process end-to-end with the people who run it, redesign it, and only then decide how it gets automated. The team's tech lead owns the engineering, and you own what gets built, in which order and why. Beyond your team, you are responsible for AI at Tangany: governance, enablement and tooling for the whole company. Who we are looking for You are a senior Product Owner who has shipped AI in a business setting yourself, whether LLM-based tools, agentic workflows or AI-assisted development, and you can explain what worked and what did not. You run discovery before anyone asks for it: you bring problems onto the roadmap that nobody requested, write your assumptions down before the build so they can be checked afterwards, and your specs catch the interaction that would break a neighbouring system before engineering finds it. When departments pull in different directions, you hold the priority and say no with a reason the requester accepts. You want to be measured by outcomes such as fewer manual steps, fewer iterations and lower cost per process. Tasks • Own vision, roadmap and backlog of Tangany's Internal Operating System, the internal tooling every department works with, starting with the Retool-based operations portal. • Map business and product operations processes end to end with Compliance, Operations, Finance and the other departments that run them and redesign them before anything gets automated. • Decide per process whether it becomes an application built with AI-assisted development, an agentic flow, or a tool we buy. Back each decision with cost and benefit, then measure what the process costs before and after and report the result. • Write specifications that engineering can build from without a rework round, including edge cases, what is out of scope, and the regulatory requirement behind each rule. Agree on the interfaces your processes need with the portal and API teams. • Shape Tangany's AI strategy and own AI governance: usage policies, rules for which data may be processed by which AI system, and the approval of AI tools and vendors, in line with our obligations as a BaFin-regulated institution. • Drive AI enablement and own the AI tooling for all employees. You train teams, run our internal AI programme, select and roll out the tools, and turn individual experiments that work into shared standards. Requirements • Several years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, including time in a senior role, ideally on internal platforms, operations tooling or process automation. • Experience mapping and redesigning end-to-end processes with business stakeholders (BPMN or a comparable method) and automating them afterwards. • Experience in a regulated environment, ideally financial services or crypto custody. You can tell a real obligation from a habit and design processes so that requirements under GwG, KWG, MiCA or DORA are met by construction. Knowledge of the EU AI Act is a plus. • Solid technical understanding: you read API documentation and data models and talk to engineers as a peer. Writing code is not part of the role. • Enthusiasm for blockchain technologies; blockchain knowledge is a plus. • Fluent in German and English (C1 or higher). Benefits Flexibility & Work-Life-Balance: • 30 days of vacation plus ½ day off December 24th and December 31st and additional unpaid leave if needed to recharge your battery. • Two weeks of extra paid vacation for new parents. • The flexibility to work from home or in our beautiful office in the heart of Munich. • Possibility to go on workation for up to 40 days per year. • Flexible working hours, you work when you are most productive. Your development: • It starts from day one: With our onboarding that is tailored to your needs, you will receive a structured onboarding plan and feedback talks within the probation period (and of course after). • We grow and we want you to grow with us. Learning on the job, becoming a blockchain expert, exchanging knowledge with our highly motivated, well-rehearsed team with diverse skill sets, as well as taking part in individual training - our learning culture enables you to bring you personal and professional development to the next level. • Regular feedback meetings: Twice a year we evaluate your career pathway and take the next steps in the right direction. Wellbeing: • Fun at work: A match with a colleague at our ping pong table, enjoy an after-work drink with your colleagues on our amazing rooftop terrace, take part in our team events. We believe that motivated employees are the key to success. That's why we offer flexible, digital benefits through Hrmony to support you in your everyday life. You'll receive a monthly budget that you can allocate to your individual needs: • Meal allowance: whether for groceries, restaurants, or food delivery • Mobility budget: e.g., for the Jobticket • Non-Cash Benefits: flexible use for streaming, fitness, shopping & more This role offers the chance to shape Tangany’s product organization during a critical growth phase. If you are a hands-on product leader who can balance strategic thinking with AI-first adoption, and if you thrive in a regulated fintech environment, we encourage you to apply. You will play a pivotal part in scaling our internal operating system. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
